To bring together, to soothe, to transform through sound and presence

Collective Singing Festival at Sites of Remembrance
Uniting, Soothing, Transforming Through Sound and Presence
A simple idea: coming together to uplift
Around the world, collective singing has been used for centuries as a tool for cohesion, peace, and inner transformation.
In India, Kirtan is a repetitive and participatory singing practice where voices unite to create a shared vibration, fostering mental calm and an open heart.
The project we are developing draws inspiration from this heritage, while adapting it to our culture, in a secular, universal, and accessible approach.

An Encounter Between Memory and Vibration
We propose creating a month-long traveling festival, organized at sites of memory and trauma, particularly sites related to the First World War.
These places still bear the imprint of history, suffering, and human loss. The goal is not to revive the past, but rather to:
• acknowledge the memory of these places
• honor what has been experienced here
• symbolically transform these spaces through living presence

The Power of Collective Singing
Shared singing works on several levels:
• it synchronizes breathing
• it soothes the nervous system
• it creates an immediate sense of unity
• it fosters emotional expression
In this type of setting, music becomes a universal language, transcending cultures, beliefs, and differences.
Kirtan, transposed into our context, becomes a space for human gathering, without a religious dimension.

An Open, Inclusive, and Accessible Festival
This project is based on a strong desire:
to make these experiences accessible to as many people as possible.

The events will be:
• open to all, with no prerequisites
• non-denominational
• participatory
• rooted in a collective dynamic
The venues will be chosen for their symbolic significance, their history, and their capacity to host gatherings in a respectful environment.

A Transformation Through Experience
Each stage of the festival aims to create a unique experience:
• guided group singing sessions
• moments of silence and integration
• spaces for meeting and sharing
• immersion in places steeped in history
The goal is to allow participants to experience:
• inner peace
• a reconnection with themselves
• a sense of unity with others
• a different relationship to the place and its memory

A Positive Reappropriation of Places
By engaging with sites marked by history, this project offers a new approach:
symbolically transforming places of memory into spaces for living, connecting, and breathing.

Without erasing the past, the aim is to:
• give it a new resonance
• introduce a dynamic of peace
• inscribe a new energy in these spaces

Festival Organization
The project includes:
• a month-long festival
• several venues selected for their historical significance
• a program of expert speakers
• logistical coordination adapted to the constraints of each site
Particular attention will be paid to:
• the quality of the welcome
• respect for the venues
• collaboration with local stakeholders
• accessibility for participants

Venue and Partner Search
As part of this project, we are actively seeking:
• community spaces
• memorial or historical sites
• public or private venues
• local partners
The objective is to prioritize:
• free use of venues
• or affordable terms
in order to guarantee the feasibility and sustainability of the project.

Fundraising Goal: €400,000
To launch and structure this festival, we have set a goal of:

€400,000
This funding will allow us to:
• organize the logistics of the events
• mobilize participants
• cover production and coordination costs
• develop the project's communication strategy
• ensure a safe and high-quality implementation

Support this project
This festival can only exist with the support of donors, partners, and contributors.
Contributing means:
• participating in an innovative cultural and human initiative
• supporting a project of social connection and collective transformation
• enabling the creation of spaces for expression and gathering
Every contribution, regardless of its size, helps make this project possible.

A vision: connecting memories and the living
This project has a simple yet profound intention:
to transform places of memory into spaces of living presence,

where song becomes a vehicle for unity, peace, and reconnection.
