"Memory, reconciliation and presence"
Verdun Project – May 16 and 17, 2026
"Memory, Reconciliation, and Presence"
Project Overview
On May 16 and 17, 2026, the Téléphane Énergie – Éditions et Multimédia (T-E-E-M) association conducted a symbolic, memorial, and introspective project in Verdun, focusing on sites marked by the First World War.
This initiative aligns with the association's overall mission: to contribute to the healing of places steeped in history, suffering, or rupture, while fostering human, collective, and spiritual reconnection.
Through landscapes, monuments, former front lines, trenches, and spaces for reflection, the project aimed to restore presence, awareness, and a dynamic of peace to places where history has left its mark of violence, fear, and separation.
Context
Verdun remains one of the most powerful symbols of the memory of the First World War.
These places still carry a strong historical, emotional, and collective weight today.
The project undertaken by T-E-E-M was neither a political initiative nor a historical reenactment, but rather a symbolic and human endeavor centered on memory, silence, reconciliation, and transmission.
Project Objectives
Main Objectives
• To honor the memory of victims from all sides with respect and dignity;
• To symbolically breathe new life into places marked by suffering;
• To encourage collective reflection on peace, memory, and reconciliation;
• To foster a sensitive and conscious approach to historical sites;
• To contribute to the transmission of knowledge to future generations.
Additional Objectives
• To observe the symbolic and emotional impact of war sites on landscapes and collective memory;
• To explore artistic, musical, meditative, or cultural forms that can transform spaces of conflict into spaces of peace;
• To raise awareness of the importance of the link between the environment, human memory, and collective well-being.
